Why do people treat music the same as fashion? Why is it more important to them to listen to what is "IN" instead of finding the best musicians, bands, and artists?

Answer by Dapper Dan sans a Magic Wandwell most of the time top 40 music doesn't have the best musicians, bands, and artists, when Bieber,Kesha, Soulja Boy etc are topping charts that should tell you something.
